My Design Philosophy:
I gravitated to the field of interior design because of my passion for art and color. I attended Kean University, one of the most respected universities for design in New Jersey. While there I studied art history, color theory, history of furniture, and architecture. These studies inspired me and brought me into interior design. Putting color and different artistic interpretations together fascinates me.
Getting to know my clients and their tastes along with their design needs is my passion. Many clients say they have no idea of their own style, but after a brief time with them and a good conversation about design, I can target their style and design needs. from small projects like window treatments to enhance a room to large jobs like new construction, which requires me to help them choose floors, tiles, architectural details, furniture placement, paint colors, etc. My job is to know their individual style, budget, and design as far as form and function. I aim to create a room that makes the client happy but does not compromise function or style.
I am constantly meeting with sales representatives and industry leaders to learn about new market trends and see the latest lines. I enjoy sharing the information with my clients. I have also held seminars and lectures for women’s clubs and other organizations, teaching design concepts, different uses of textiles for window treatments, furniture, as well as color theory and furniture placement.
Our new 8,000 square foot showroom displays several room vignettes and our library houses thousands of fabric books, as well as endless bookshelves of furniture and accessories resources. We are well-known in the industry as a respected and solid design firm, which is why I have been with the same firm for more than 10 years. The firm has a high integrity and stand behind me and the products we sell, keeping our client’s satisfaction a priority.
My relationships with clients are long-term and almost always lead to referrals. For example, in the last year I had three referrals from “empty-nester” clients moving from their homes into the same luxury condominium building. I helped each couple make use of the pieces they wanted to keep while introducing new pieces to make their new home stylish, elegant, and comfortable – all three homes were different to fit each client’s needs and tastes. On the other side of the spectrum, I designed a nursery for a client’s first baby, and a year later, she called me to design another nursery for her second baby on the way. I also have several clients that have moved from home to home, calling on me with each move or renovation to help with their new spaces.
